Crosswalk is a safe place
where children can explore a relationship with Jesus Christ at their own level
of understanding.We believe consistency
is important for preschoolers and we strive to provide it through our teachers,
curriculum, and the policies that guide this ministry.Crosswalk meets on Sunday mornings at 10:00
am in our nursery wing.
Frequently Asked Questions
What curriculum do you use in Crosswalk?
We use Karyn Henley’s (Best-selling author of the Beginner’s Bible
and Day by Day Kids Bible) Foundations curriculum that will present the
love of Jesus at a child’s level of understanding. For information on
Karyn Henley’s curriculum, visit her website at www.karynhenley.com.
How do I register my preschooler on Sunday morning?
Arrival Procedures
All
children should be signed in at the desk at the entrance to the nursery wing.
Parents will be asked to complete a two-part nametag: one part goes on the child’s back and the other part remains with the parent. Both parts have corresponding numbers. This number (which will change weekly) becomes the call number for a child.
If
there is a security alert (i.e. a parent who is not permitted to pick up a
child) a red sticker should be placed on the nametag and a note should be made
on the child's information sheet.
If
there is a medical alert (i.e. seizures) or an allergy alert (i.e. nuts) a
yellow sticker should be placed on the nametag and a note should be made on the
child's information sheet.
All
first time guests will need to complete an information sheet.
When
sign-in is complete, parents will come back to the classroom and children will
enter through the small doors.
For
the safety of all the other children, parents will not be permitted to enter
the classrooms. Special exceptions can
be made for new children to help them adjust.
Thirty
minutes after the service has started the floater will take the sign-in sheets
to the various classrooms. All remaining
children will sign-in at the classroom door.
Dismissal Procedures
Parents
will pick children up directly from the classroom.
All
parents must present their portion of the child's nametag before a child
is released.
If
they do not have the nametag, the floater should be called to verify their
name on the child's information sheet.
A photo identification must be presented that corresponds to the
names listed for pick-up.
The
child must be signed out on the sign-out sheet.
